Keni Burke live at the Portugal Soul Weekender in September 2027, performing all his hits.

Keni Burke’s story began with The Five Stairsteps, the family soul group whose harmonies helped make “O-o-h Child” a classic. Growing up in the group gave him the foundation for a career that would span singing, songwriting, bass playing and production.

As a solo artist, Burke developed a sound that blended soul, funk and warm, effortless grooves. His 1977 debut introduced “Keep on Singing”, while later releases brought favourites such as “Let Somebody Love You” and “Hang Tight”.

Then came “Risin’ to the Top”, the recording that became his signature song. Its unmistakable bassline and laid-back feel have kept it close to the hearts of soul fans and inspired generations of artists who followed.

In September 2027, Keni Burke will bring his music to the Portugal Soul Weekender. It’s a chance to celebrate an artist whose songs have been part of soul music’s soundtrack for decades.
